As you can see i started off not fantastic with this series. and I actually plan on DNFing it. The writing is good, The worlds are pretty incredible, and in great detail. but every chapter is jumping around and it takes a page or two to understand whats going on. plus we're changing from 4 maybe 5 characters, with only a slight back-ground on one, the others we just kind of drop into randomly. Its extremely epic/high Sci-fi fantasy, which doesnt really do it for me. Plus its like 700+ pages and its just not holding my interest enough. i wouldnt mind reading this guys more....simple work. maybe if i kept reading i'd get a better understanding of what going on, at the moment I'm at 19% and Im still just mainly confused and not understanding the point of much. The characters arent really holding me interest either. though the first part i read, the prequel or set up i believe was pretty fantastic, reminds me of jack and the beanstalk, and it was written beautifully. i can imagine it with such ease, which is kind of terrible cause the dude is in the middle of a was, and if this book was just on him without the jumping around of story-line and POV i would happily continue, but at this point and time, im just not feeling it.
So yea, if you like epic sci-fi fantasy, give the book a go, for no i think i might just stick with his other work and see how it goes.
