Boneshaker - Cherie Priest

Sadly I did not enjoy this book as much as I had hoped. The world was quite good and I loved the blight (poisonous gas that kills people and turns them into rotters/zombies) but the rest of the book was a bit of a let down for me. I wasn't a massive fan of the main characters, in fact I feel like they became more and more alike towards the end of the book, which is odd being that one is a 15 year old boy and the other is an late 30's female. On top of that they both did ridiculous things that drove me slightly bonkers And the author had a terrible habit of saying they froze, except for the fact they had already been frozen so mainly they just held their breath, why  would you phrase it like that? I already knew they had stopped the book had already informed me of this!

So yea while I didn't mind the book in the end I wasn't exactly thrilled, little bummed that I bought it actually. Oh well. One thing I did rather enjoy was the authors note at the end of the book, I'm not even slightly a history buff so I just went along with the story no problems, the author on the other hand seems to know his stuff and explained why he ignored the parts if history he did or rearranged others, witch I found highly amusing. Actually the authors note was probably my favourite part of the whole book...

Not a great sign I must say.

Will I be reading the next book? Maybe maybe not, we'll see. I certainly won't be buying it though.

Do I recommend? Probably not, I think there's better steampunk books out there though I doubt this is the worse

worse.
