another old review from 2011
this book was top full of surprises.
i was going to give it only 3 stars, but decided on 4. the reason i was only going to give it 3 was because faythe really annoys me!!
she's getting better, but she keeps doing stuff that is so stupid!!
well let me start from the start.
manx is about to have her trial so they have to drive through the "free territory" to get there, mark escorts then through the free territory where they get ambushed by about 20 strays.
they survive - drop manx of at the trial then return home to wait for the verdict.
about two days after being home dan (stray thats friends with mark) calls up to report mark missing from his house and that there blood everywhere. faythe, ethan and parker go to investigate.
while the search for mark is happening faythe is called home to get kaci to shift because she's dying, jace and ethan take kaci for a walk in the woods to get her fresh air before her shift where they are attacked by jace's step-dads pride cats. ethan gets killed while jace's runs home caring an uncontentious kaci(im not ashamed to say i got super teary through this part - i loved ethan). just after ethan dies faythe goes searching for jace to make sure he's alright. she finds him and he's exstreamly drunk and she drinks to - the hole time thinking "i better not drink to much, i dont want to have impaired judgement" then she keeps drinking anyways then her and jace get it on and she totally freaks afterwards (i know she's such an idiot!)all the while everyone thinks mark is dead.
after this kaci is so weak she cant even sit up by-herself and if she dosnt shift right away she'll be to weak and dye.
well i gave a few things away - but there are a lot more surprises.
you find out how manx is judged, whats happened to mark, whats happening to the strays, how kaci turns out and how jace is now going to fight for faythe - apparently he does have the alpha in him.
then ending is really interesting aswell - it has to do with Ethan.
